Craven, Cowardly, and an Asset: Why TACO-Trump Always Bows Down to Putin

There’s a pattern. There’s always been a pattern. And now, with Donald Trump openly stating that “really bad things would have already happened to Russia” if not for him, the pattern is no longer deniable. It’s no longer covert. It’s confessed.
Trump always bows down to Putin. Not once. Not as a one-time lapse. But over and over again—strategically, deliberately, and, above all, cravenly.
The question is no longer whether Trump is aligned with Putin. The question is why. And the answer is a mixture of fear, compromise, and unflinching self-interest.
Craven: Because He Fears Strength He Can’t Imitate
Donald Trump has always admired power—real or staged. And what he sees in Putin is the illusion of control he himself longs for. A man who rules without checks. Who imprisons critics. Who makes enemies disappear. That’s not repulsive to Trump. It’s aspirational.
But aspiration without courage is cravenness. Because instead of standing against that kind of tyranny—as real American leaders have done—Trump kneels. He flatters. He excuses. He grovels.
He is not cowed by Putin’s ruthlessness. He is enamored by it.
Cowardly: Because He Knows What the Truth Would Cost
To confront Putin honestly would require Trump to admit the moral failure of their relationship. It would mean acknowledging that the U.S. intelligence agencies were right. That Putin did interfere in our democracy. That Russia did place bounties on U.S. soldiers. That supporting Ukraine is not weakness but honor.
But Trump won’t do that—because the truth terrifies him. Not just because of what it would reveal about him politically, but because of what it might reveal legally, financially, and historically.
It’s easier to lie. It’s easier to call investigations “witch hunts” than face what they might uncover. It’s easier to call strong allies weak and strong enemies misunderstood than admit he’s been on the wrong side all along. He simply cannot admit he has been working illegally for the Russians all along—even though it is the honest truth.
That’s cowardice. Not strategy. So when he pretends today to be tough with Putin, know this: Trump Always Chickens Out.
