We’ll Learn If We Live in a Civilized Society When We Tell Elon Musk to Politely F*ck Off

There’s a simple test for whether we still live in a civilized society:

We tell Elon Musk to politely f*ck off. And then we see if he actually does.

Because if he doesn’t—if he keeps digging deeper into government systems, manipulating public infrastructure, and overriding elected governance like he’s some kind of cyber-feudal lord—then the answer is clear:

We don’t live in a civilized society anymore. We live in a corporate-controlled technocracy where billionaires write the rules, and the rest of us are just tenants in their empire.

1. Musk’s Power Grab Is a Stress Test for Democracy

Elon Musk is not just some eccentric billionaire playing with rockets. He is actively embedding himself into the deepest functions of government. And now, he’s doing it without oversight.

His engineers—some as young as 19—have access to classified government systems and private citizen data. (People.com)

His team has been given access to the federal payment system—handling trillions in public funds. (BBC.com)

USAID officials were placed on leave after refusing Musk’s team unfettered access to sensitive government operations. (The Guardian)

So the question isn’t whether he’s overreaching—he clearly is. The question is whether anyone in power has the spine to stop him. It is not my fault that the words of the Senate these days ring hollow.

2. This Is the Moment We Find Out Who Actually Governs

Civilized societies have a basic rule:

Private billionaires do not control public governance. Defense contractors do not have the right to dictate foreign policy. One man does not get to decide how governments communicate, function, or operate.

Right now, Musk is testing this rule.

  • He has positioned himself as a global power broker through Starlink.

  • He has embedded himself in U.S. government systems.

  • He is treating government functions as an extension of his personal empire.

So here’s the real question:

Do we still have a government, or do we just have competing billionaire factions?

If we do still have a functioning government, then the next step is simple:

The government tells Elon Musk to politely f*ck off. And then it makes sure he actually does.

That’s the test.

3. If He Doesn’t, We Know What’s Really Happening

If Musk refuses to back off, then we have the answer:

He isn’t just a businessman—he’s a shadow autocrat operating outside of democracy. The U.S. government isn’t in charge—the oligarchs are. We are past the point of democratic control and deep into corporate feudalism.

If Musk ignores the laws and nothing happens to him, then we’ve officially entered the next stage of oligarchic rule.

  • One where elected officials are just puppets for billionaires.

  • One where tech lords have more power than sovereign nations.

  • One where we no longer live in a functioning democracy.

And that can engender a very different kind of response.

4. So, What Now?

The test is simple.

  1. We tell Elon Musk: Politely, but firmly, f*ck off.

  2. If he respects that boundary, we move forward.

  3. If he doesn’t, then we face reality: The billionaires aren’t just rich—they’re the real government now.

Because if Musk isn’t told to stop, and if he isn’t forced to stop, then the conclusion is obvious:

We are no longer governed by laws, but by the whims of a handful of tech oligarchs.

And that means the next step isn’t asking—it’s taking power back.
